Woodcote Rally 13-14 July 2013

Woodcote Rally 2009 Donations Evening

This year we are in a position to donate a tremendous £11,600 to charities which is almost double the amount that we could do last year and we have again concentrated our donations to the organisations within the village or close by. This now brings our total donations since we first started in 1964 to some £324,700.00.

Following the introduction by Mr. Roger Temple, Chairman of the Woodcote Charitable Association, Messrs Pete Solomons and Nick Barthomolew on behalf of Mr. Martin Allwright, the Rally Director, presented the awards to the best in class for the different types of exhibits at Rally 2009. The class winners came along to receive their trophies (some coming from far away, but a large number of them being local people from around the Woodcote area) showing their huge interest in the preservation of vehicles such as cars, motor bikes and not to mention, of course, steam engines.

P1040348Following a short interlude for refreshments Roger Temple then went on to conduct the all important part of the evening by presenting all the cheques to the local charities and organisations who so appreciate the support that they receive thanks to the good folk of Woodcote and local villages supporting the Rally each year.

Woodcote/Stoke Row Football Club: - £300 for new equipment and pitch improvements;•Checkendon Primary School: - £150 for assistance in refurbishing the school library;
